How to Care for Your Jewelry

The details matter. Here’s how to find the right material, size and style—and what to check before ordering. For exact specifications and available options, refer to each product page.
What materials does MOBODUC jewelry come in?
Our pieces are made in 925 sterling silver, stainless steel, brass and tungsten. Finishes include 14K gold plating, 14K white gold plating, rhodium plating and a black finish, and some styles are set with cubic zirconia, moissanite, pearl, mother-of-pearl or opal. Not every piece uses the same material, so check the Details section on each product page for its exact base metal, finish and stone.
What is the difference between gold-plated, gold-filled and solid gold?
Gold-plated jewelry has a thin layer of gold over a base metal. Gold-filled jewelry has a much thicker gold layer bonded to the base, and solid gold is a gold alloy all the way through. These terms are not interchangeable. Our gold-tone pieces are 14K gold plated; the base metal is listed on each product page.
Does silver-colored jewelry mean sterling silver?
No. A silver-tone piece may be 925 sterling silver, rhodium-plated, white-gold-plated or stainless steel. The color alone does not tell you the metal. The product page lists the exact base metal and finish of every piece.
Is MOBODUC jewelry hypoallergenic?
Pieces we describe as hypoallergenic are marked on their product pages. Skin sensitivities vary, and no material can guarantee that every wearer will avoid a reaction. If you have a known metal allergy, check the base metal and finish of the specific piece before ordering.
How do I choose the right hoop size?
Hoop sizes are listed in millimeters and inches. Our Size Guide shows US coins drawn to scale—a dime is about 18 mm, a quarter about 24 mm—so you can picture the size before you order. Hoop width, shape and weight also change how a pair looks and feels.
How is earring weight measured?
We weigh one earring, not the pair. Our weight classes are Featherlight (up to 2 g), Lightweight (2–4.5 g), Medium (4.5–7 g), Substantial (7–10 g) and Heavyweight (over 10 g). The product page shows the class of each earring. Comfort also depends on fit, balance and individual sensitivity.
How do I find my necklace or bracelet size?
Compare the length and any extender listed on the product page with our Size Guide, which has separate women’s and men’s charts for necklaces and bracelets. Fit varies with body measurements and styling preference.
How do I choose a ring size?
Use our Ring Size Guide to measure a ring that fits the same finger, or measure your finger directly. We make whole US sizes only, and each product page shows the sizes available for that ring. Wide bands fit more snugly, so consider the next size up if you are between sizes. Tungsten rings cannot be resized.
What earring closures are available?
Earrings come with hinged clickers, hinged snap closures, butterfly backs, screw backs, omega backs or lever backs. Necklaces and bracelets use lobster, spring ring, box or fold-over clasps, and some cuffs are open and adjustable. The product page lists the closure of each piece. Never force a clasp that does not close easily.
Can I personalize or engrave a piece?
Only products marked as customizable offer personalization. Text, fonts, symbols, engraving positions and character limits depend on the item and are shown on its product page. Review names, dates and spelling carefully before ordering.
How do I switch between colors or sizes?
Gold, silver and black versions of a design may have their own product pages, linked by the color swatches on the product page. Sizes are selected on the same page. Check the photos and details of the selected piece before adding it to your bag.
How long does it take to prepare my order?
Preparation time is shown on each product page. Ready to Ship pieces ordered by 4 PM ET Monday–Friday can ship the same business day. Made-for-you pieces typically ship within 1–3 business days. Carrier delivery time is separate.
Can I return earrings or personalized jewelry?
Yes. You can request a return within 30 days of delivery, including unworn earrings and personalized pieces in their original condition. Standard pieces are refunded to your original payment method; personalized or engraved pieces are returned for store credit or an exchange. Store credit is valid for 1 year from the date it is issued.
Is my jewelry covered by a warranty?
Yes. Every MOBODUC piece is covered for 1 year from delivery against manufacturing defects, such as a clasp or hinge that fails, a broken link or solder joint, or a stone that comes loose under normal wear. Send us a photo and your order number and we will repair or replace the piece; if that is not possible, we will offer store credit.
The warranty does not cover normal wear over time—such as gradual fading of plating, scratches or dents—or damage from accidents, misuse, chemicals, resizing or repairs by others, or lost pieces and stones.
